Vegan MoFo, Day 19: Sauerkraut, or Learning To Love Stuff I HATE

You know what I hated growing up? Muther-fricking sauerkraut. The funky taste, texture...ugh, PUKE.

It was later when my mom made some pork dish with sauerkraut that I started to like it. Mind you, it was the canned stuff...and pork bone things (gag), but it kind of grew on me.

I decided to try making my own using Sayward's awesomely-easy directions from Bonzai Aphrodite (love that site, she's so wise!)

You guys, it's so easy!! I will have my fingers crossed until I make reubens later this week that it's not totally screwed up.

Hooray for another food-venture with Vegan MoFo!

What foods do you dislike? Have you given them a second chance?

  3. I got a recipe in a canning class I took but have been nervous to make it. Glad to hear it was so easy. Going to have to give it a try.
